LEGAL AID CENTER

The committee has a twin mandate of spreading legal awareness and providing free legal assistance to the socially and the economically backward sections of the society who have difficulty accessing the judicial system. Additionally, it will also provide a center for practical and professional training for students of law in our college. It is our duty to help people whose legal rights are been denied just because of social inequality and financial clutch. Legal aid service as a social instrument in law not only expands legal knowledge of an individual but most prominently is a key factor in helping those who are unaware of their rights. We want to help you tap into your higher level of empathy and kindness as you enter the legal world. The legal Aid Committee endeavors to instill in the life of students the value of compassion & helping others.

For a lawyer it is not important to do pro bono work but as a youth of this society, it is our duty to help people whose legal rights are been denied just because of opinions of others. Being empathetic towards people who need us right now is like working on a blank canvas, you'll never know what efforts of yours can change someone's life.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE LEGAL AID COMMITTEE OF NMIMS, NAVI MUMBAI

1. This committee endeavors to promote the concept of legal aid services, its variables in a systematic and structured format through various virtual and practical experiences.
2. Aims at improving the quality of life of the socially and economically backward people in society by availing them legal assistance.
3. Connect law students to a more ground level where they see the real need of justice.
4. To facilitate better implementation of governmental schemes among the people belonging to marginalized section of the society.
